Caroline Glick on the Jewish-American Community’s Love Affair with Leftist Jew-Hatred

Here she discusses the BDS movement and the unbelievable cowardice of the organized Jewish community to fight antisemitism on college campuses and at a national level. In fact she discusses the absurd reality that the Jews of this country have no interest in learning any narrative beyond what the Left allows. Truth be damned.  History be damned. Cowardice is in full force. This is beyond the concept of the shastil Jew. As I have said before American-Jewish “Leaders” are Chickenshit.

She goes on to discuss how the Jews of America are more concerned about belonging to the Jew-haters club of the leftist progressive movement than making certain that the rights of today’s Jews to exist are respected.  The problem with the Jewish-American community is that they have decided in a politically correct sort of way to include everyone’s voice in a big tent. But these organizations and persons, whether its JStreet, Beinart, Kushner, the New Israel Fund or acolytes of the New York Times, are beyond what is political correctness. They are suicides and modern-day kapos. We are our choices. Who we chose as allies and political partners bespeaks who we are. But some  beliefs should be beyond the pale.  Not all ideas are entitled to be part of the tent.

I find these Jewish-American incredulous. They allow into their realm persons who call for the genocide of the Jews of Israel, but these same self-righteous Jews would never ever allow anyone into their fold who ever spoke the truth about the Jew-hatred inherent in Islam, the antisemitic underpinnings perpetuated by the BDS movement and the Jewish-leftists who financially benefit off the world’s Jew-hatred. Revolting stupid stupid stupid Joos.

Go Caroline!

Following up on what Caroline said, in all honesty the spinelessness of the on campus rabbi is why my oldest refused to have anything to do with the campus Jewish organization. Son tried to get them to have teach-ins about Iran and the Middle East, but the rabbi/adviser kept poo-pooing the idea until he finally told my son if he wanted to do something then let him know what it was. Basically the man implied that he, the rabbi, and the organization really were not going to help son do anything on campus. It’s not a wonder that son has no connection to the Jewish community beyond the survival of Israel. Rejected by most synagogues and temples in our area because he has aspergers, and rejected yet again by the Temple we finally found and fellow-Jewish-peers because he believes in the right of the Jewish people to exist in their national homeland and to defend themselves. Son describes himself as an atheist on his skin, but a Jew at his very core. Sadly, he has also realized that the majority of the Jewish-American community is not really worth his time nor effort.

…I don’t know for certain but I’d bet the Rabbi at your son’s school was perhaps part of Hillel or similar. Most them are indeed worthless when it comes to Israel. But I think its a mistake for your son to reject the entire American Jewish community because of that.Nor is it a matter of religion.

Although many Reform and Conservative Rabbis are pro-Israel, many are not. Just like many Jewish organizations, they have to please their Democrat Lefty donors.

It was primarily Reform and Conservative rabbis like Steven S. Wise who refused to pressure Roosevelt to take in more Jewish refugees or to take meaningful steps to slow the carnage by taking steps like bombing the train tracks leading to the camps. And they did their best to vilify and sabotage anyone who tried to influence Roosevelt to do something or to bring pressure by informing the American public.

Meanwhile, most Orthodox rabbis in America were solidly behind those efforts. And today, just as during the Shoah, you find very few Orthodox rabbis as part of Peace Now, Rabbis For Obama or championing the likes of J Street .

OTOH, my father of blessed memory, like much of his generation grew up much closer to the Shoah, and while a lot of them were avowedly secular they were staunchly pro-ZIonist and aggressively pro-Israel.

I think it is because they understood that the quality of our lives in the diaspora was directly linked to a strong and powerful Israel. They weren’t interested in scoring points or being accepted by a bunch of Lefties.

I commend your son for sticking by his birthright and his nation. He may one day find that there is a religious element of Jewry that matches his fervor and love for Israel and the Jewish people.

As for the others, they too will one day find out that even selling out your own people is no path to acceptance and safety. Certainly a lot of Israel’s Leftist academics have.

It’s the lesson of the Megilla of Esther and what Mordecai said to strengthen her when she started going wobbly.

In truth we are a secular Zionist family. It is really how he was raised. We tried to embrace and observe in many a modern way even including some humanistic Judaism into our practice (to entice my son) but as a Holocaust major he is quite internally angry at hashem on so many levels.Unfortunately as welcome as he would be among the Orthodox, it really is not for him.

I would like to get him involved in ZOA or other Zionist organizations and maybe he will find them in his masters program. I am hoping that he finds like minded people out there.

      Thanks Rob for your support.
