I Support the Pro-Israel Lobby: Bring it on Bitches

The issues and arguments surrounding the fight over the possible Hagel nomination as SecDef brings an interesting issue to the forefront. Suddenly the media and the pundits are attacking the pro-Israel community because somehow only “Israel” is the main reason and in fact the only reason that the Hagel nomination may be scuttled.

The fact that Hagel supports Hamas, Hezbollah, (two USA government designated terror organizations, supported by Iran and whose goal is not only the destruction of Israel but of the USA ), sat on the board of Deutsche Bank while they violated the Iran sanctions, and is on the board of a Brazilian oil producer cited for human rights abuses does not seem to register with any of the pundits or media talking heads. The fact that Hagel has no management experience and no background in running an organization like the Pentagon doesn’t seem to bother the political prognosticators. The fact that Hagel constantly talks about gutting the Pentagon budget and consistently is in the forefront of the blame America crowd doesn’t seem to bother the minds of the Hagel supporters. They support Hagel simply because he won some medals in Vietnam? Yes he was brave in battle. But so was John McCain and that was actually held against him by the Left. Some Hagel supporters have even gone so far as to uphold Hagel as a real hero as opposed to McCain whose medals they declared were for “phoney” bravery.

Meanwhile no one bothers to follow the money or Hagel’s paychecks since he left pubic service. Who pays his bills and who is he beholden too for his children’s food, housing and clothing? Follow his paycheck and you will find where his loyalties lie. Whether you call it the Saudi-retirement Plan or the financial ties of The Arab Lobby, or the hand of billionaire Israel-haters worldwide, it is there and there are questions that need to be asked.

No the only thing that seems to matter to Hagel supporters  is that Hagel is not a friend to Israel and that the pro-Israel lobby is up in arms. Here’s my question…so what? Hagel is not a friend of Israel. He has spouted some openly anti-Semitic canards and backed openly anti-Israel positions and even refused to condemn antisemitism itself. This has pissed off Israel’s supporters. When you take extreme hateful positions like Hagel happens to do, you get an extreme response. A man who is a war hero, and his supporters, need to stop whining like spoiled two-year-olds simply because the true character of the man is coming to the forefront.

As Americans we do not have to follow lock step what the President decides. We do not have to agree with his choice of cabinet appointments. It does not mean we are anti-American. It means we think for ourselves and are in all aspects of life, true Americans. The media and the left-pundits have made it a treasonous act to disagree with Obama even while they held up their disagreements with Bush as the ultimate act of patriotism. The problem is that those who oppose the President, those who hold him to his Constitutional duty to protect this nation, cower and apologize and fear being called names by the “politically correct charlatan left.” Well forget that nonsense.

This is simply what it comes down to. Those who support Israel have every Constitutional right to lobby their representatives so that they support Israel. Those who oppose Israel have an equal right to lobby against Israel. The pro-Israel lobby is more successful not only because Israel’s cause is just but because their cause is pro-American. Israel is an ally of the USA. A faithful and total ally. The only truly reliable ally in the Middle East. Israel’s enemies are the USA’s enemies: the PLO, Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran, Assad, Moslem Brotherhood and every other nation that seeks to destroy democracy, freedom, equal gender rights and the rights of the gay community. The enemies of the USA, by the way, are Hagel’s supporters, along with some of the most failed foreign policy architects in history like Zbigniew Brzezinski.

The question becomes why do we, the pro-Israel lobby/group/supporters/political advocates allow the antisemites and the Israel-haters to run the argument? Why do we allow them to pose the question that we are not pro-USA. They are the ones who support the enemies of America. Why do we not turn the tables on them? Question their patriotism for a change. Call them America-hating-terror-supporting-firsters, Islamist-firsters, anti-woman/gay-firsters, anti-democratic-anti-freedom-firsters.

Why are we also not proud of the fact that we, as a lobby group, are successful? Why are we running scared? Because our enemies bring up antisemitic canards? Throw it back in their faces. Decry their bigotry and their hate for a change. These haters of Israel are not looking to make Israel a better nation by their actions, criticisms or discussions. These haters of Israel seek to wipe Israel from existence. The Israel haters seek a new holocaust while many deny that the actual Holocaust happened. That is antisemitism. Just ask the US State Department…it’s their definition.

It is time, we, the pro-Israel community, stood up and asserted who we are instead of running scared. I for one support the pro-Israel lobby. I am proud of what we have been able to accomplish in this nation. I am proud that we are a strong lobby and that we do engender respect. I am proud that our issues are taken seriously by Congress. I am proud that we, pro-Israel Americans, can fight the good fight and win. I am proud that we no longer have to sit on the sidelines and pray someone somewhere notices our cause. I am proud that we can stand up for what we believe in and be heard.

Seventy years ago there was no political advocacy groups strong enough to speak up for, and try to garner US strength to save, the Jews of Europe. We have been able to change that dynamic. The survival of the Jewish State is an American issue and one of import. I embrace that reality. I revel in that reality. I thank the American body politic. I am proud of our American democratic heritage. I am proud of the US Constitution and the rights it retains for the people of this nation. Let the haters prove otherwise.

Bring it on you antisemitic bitches.
